Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research (IOLR), established in 1967, is Israel's national institution for marine, coastal, and freshwater research, operating the National Institute of Oceanography in Haifa, the Kinneret Limnological Laboratory, and the National Center for Mariculture (NCM) in Eilat. With approximately 180 scientists and researchers, IOLR advances aquaculture biotechnology for Red Sea species, develops tools for sustainable management of Israel's aquatic resources, and advises the Government on marine policy.
