The National Center for Mariculture (NCM), located in Eilat on the northern shore of the Red Sea's Gulf of Aqaba, is a division of Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research (IOLR). Established in the late 1960s, NCM conducts research and development in marine fish domestication, genetic improvement of mariculture species, pathobiology, production of biochemicals from marine organisms, and land-based polyculture systems.
