About Us

MIGAL – Galilee Research Institute Ltd. is an internationally recognized multidisciplinary applied research institute established in 1979, owned by the Galilee Development Company and affiliated with the Israeli Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology. MIGAL specializes in biotechnology, computational sciences, plant science, precision agriculture, environmental sciences, green energy, and food, nutrition and health. With nearly 100 PhD researchers across more than 45 research groups, MIGAL serves as the research and technology transfer engine for the new University of Kiryat Shmona in the Galilee (formerly Tel-Hai College). MIGAL's aquaculture-related research includes fish physiology, freshwater species, algae for health and pharma, and agritech innovation.
